Smolak Farms Whim Dinner Series 2017

I can’t think of a better way to welcome the official start of summer than by enjoying a gourmet farm-to-table dinner at the bucolic Smolak Farms in North Andover! Everything was ideal for Smolak’s first Whim dinner of the year last night, featuring Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse (Chef Danny Levesque), and O’Brien Estate Winery. The sun set peacefully over the hill behind the elegant tent, while the staff of Davio’s prepared a mouth watering four-course meal in the open air kitchen.

After a brief welcome from Michael Smolak and Davio’s owner Steve DiFillippo, diners enjoyed a first course of Hand-Rolled Potato Gnocchi with Chanterelles, English Peas, Parmigiano, and Lemon Butter.

Next up was a Watermelon Salad with Strawberries, Baby Arugula, Feta Cheese, and Lemon-Mint Dressing. Watching the plate assembly was like watching an artist paint a masterpiece! The colors alone were gorgeous! Of course, it tasted even better than it looked.

The main course of the evening was Brandt Beef Short Ribs with Parmigiano Farro and Baby Vegetables – cooked to perfection, served beautifully, and oh-so-tender!

Last but not least, the evening finished up with Honey Lavender Crème Brulee and Smolak Farm Berries.
