I’m back!

Did you miss me?

It’s been quiet on the blog lately because I spent most of the past week in Austin, TX, where I attended a 3-day photography workshop put on by Michele Anderson of Pinkle Toes Photography. I have followed Michele’s work since before I ever even dreamed of Sarah Jordan Photography, so it was a bit surreal to be there learning from her in person! The workshop was exhilarating, exhausting, enlightening, and, most of all, FUN! I met an incredible group of talented women with whom I bonded over cameras, blue bonnets and some fabulous meals 🙂

During the workshop, we got to work with several different models. And I took a lot of photos. I mean, a LOT of photos. I’ll be sharing them little by little over the next week or two once I finally get through them all!

Since I love working with babies, I thought I’d start out with this little guy. Check out those baby blues!

Blarney Stones and Shamrocks

After a great Valentine’s Day party last month, I was excited to join Imajine That for another festive holiday this weekend. We had a blast celebrating St. Patty’s day with everything from shamrock tattoos to create-your-own blarney stones. Lucky leprechauns were even treated to rainbow science and art activities with the amazing new in-house educators and a fun sing-along with music teacher Justin. If you couldn’t attend this party, check out the website www.imajinethat.com for lots more exciting events and workshops!

I got so many great pics from the party that I couldn’t include them all here!  Parents, check out the link below for the rest of the images from the day.  You can even purchase prints directly from the link if you’d like!

Amazed

My kids amaze me. Every. Single. Day. Sometimes because of their endless energy. Other days it’s their unconditional love that gets me. Most often, though, it’s the little things – Hudson learning the ABC’s, riding a bike, having a (mostly) logical conversation with me; Oliver figuring out a new toy, playing fetch with the dog, and, most recently, taking his first steps. To be honest, he started toddling around about a month ago, but he recently decided that walking was way more fun than crawling…so he’s been mostly bipedal for the past week. It amazing how being a parent changes your entire perspective on the world. My kids may not have superpowers, but – to me – they are The Incredibles 🙂

I broke out the new camera this afternoon while we were enjoying the sunshine, and got some shots of Ollie showing off his new moves. Hudson wanted nothing to do with the camera, so I suppose I’ll have to devote an entire post to him some day soon…

Baby, My Family
  1. Donna says: So beautiful...both the photos AND the subject! on 03.20.11 @ 9:30 pm

  2. Kelly Links says: I'm home so sick today and checking out this site totally made me feel better. Aunt Kathy's 65th Bday party was yesterday (Mt. Fuji Sunday brunch woo-hoo) so I went, even though I didn't feel up to it, and I showed off my nephews the whole time. Seth had your site up on his super cool Droid and I brought the VDay card. They were all speechless :) I told my fam that you are indeed talented but it's easy to take pics of gorgeous kids lol on 03.21.11 @ 10:35 am

Sweet Pea

Sometimes a session goes so well I have a hard time leaving. This was one of those sessions 🙂

Lighting? Great. Baby? Sleepy and sweet. Parents? So full of adoration that I couldn’t help but capture it in image, after image, after image. Who knows what this little girl will grow up to be, but one thing is certain: she is incredibly, utterly, and completely loved.

A space of my own

Well, it finally happened! After months of planning, a dream came true for me today. I finally have my own “gallery” space! I am the proud owner (well, renter? user?) of a beautiful brick wall in the lobby of IMAJINE THAT – a fabulous indoor playspace in Lawrence, MA. I tried to grab some pics of the finished product before we left, but it was already starting to get pretty dark…I think you’ll get the idea, though. Come stop by and check it out in person soon!
Thanks so much to my amazing husband and my skilled father for helping with the install – let’s just say that the bricks and concrete made things a bit challenging. You guys are the best!

Sneak Peek

I got to spend today with this beauty and her parents. Not a bad way to start the weekend 🙂
Little S was such a trooper – we were able to get tons of different shots…but on first glance, I was drawn to the cozy feel of these. I hope you guys like them, and I will be posting the rest as soon as I can!

Sugar and Spice

“She is SUCH a sleepy baby,” Mom assured me when I got there. Of course, as soon as the words left her mouth, little C opened her eyes and refused to take a nap for the next hour and a half! It was certainly worth the wait, though – she’s as sweet as sugar, and even fits in the tin…
