It happens at almost every newborn session involving an older sibling: Mom or Dad answers the door and immediately warns me that I’ll have my work cut out for me because big bro is having a rough morning.
And you know what? It always works out 🙂
We take our time, have fun, make jokes, and suddenly….that cranky, clingy toddler is actually smiling! And hugging, and laughing…and the session just works. This one was no exception. Not only did we get the whole family to relax and enjoy themselves, but I had the privilege of rocking baby sister to sleep for a nice long while. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!
